Overview
Simply Pleasure is one of the largest and best known adult toy shops in the UK, with 15 years experience. They sell a broad range of body-safe toys and accessories at reasonable prices. Their products are clearly described and categorised, making it easy to find what you need, whether you know what you're looking for or not.
About Simply Pleasure
Simply Pleasure are one of the most well known UK based adult retailers, best known for their large selection of women's and couple's toys. They also offer a pretty good range of men's toys and other items such as bondage gear and lubricants.
The company has been going since 2007, so they're certainly experienced. They're part of the Simply Pleasure Group which seems to be the same as a company called 'Net 1on1', who supply a lot of toys to other retailers.
What do they sell?
I think they probably stock the widest range of toys out of all the companies I've reviewed so far, certainly for women. They claim that their focus is on couples, but there are far more women's toys than anything else.
I don't think there's any kind of product they don't sell, and actually it's quite unusual to see a site that really does cover everything from vibrators to candles.
Some examples:
- Lots of vibrators!
For example: rabbit, egg, bullet, wand etc. - Dildos
All sizes and shapes including realistic ones. - Sleeves
Not as many as most other sites but still plenty. - BDSM stuff
For example: handcuffs, gags, whips etc. - Lingerie
A massive range including menswear (although it's just a few items) - Lubes
A nice large selection including water-based and silicone-based. - Condoms
A pretty decent selection by most standards but less than most other stores I've looked at. - Books & games
A surprisingly large selection!
The quality of their products
This is where I get all judgy - but in a positive way!
I believe that this company stands out in this respect. They sell a huge range from very cheap to very expensive so obviously there's going to be some rubbish there somewhere. But the thing that sets them apart is that they're really honest about it in their descriptions, so it's easy to find something good or bad depending on your needs.
The main thing I look out for these days is whether or not a toy contains phthalates (nasty chemicals). There are plenty that do on this site but if you read the description you'll see something like this:
"Please note this item contains phthalates."
I'm impressed by their honesty about things like this. This means that when they say something really is safe you can believe them because they're just as willing to tell you if it isn't.
The more expensive toys tend to be made by well-known brands such as Pipedreams and Seven Creations so you know what you're getting.
The value for money
If you've read much of my other stuff you'll have noticed my main complaint about many shops is the high prices they charge. Of course I understand that they have to make a profit but some shops go too far in my opinion - selling stuff at double or triple what you'll pay elsewhere.
This company doesn't do that - mostly. Most things seem reasonably priced although there are some exceptions; especially with lube where some bottles are twice the price you'll find elsewhere. Many things are pretty much the cheapest I've seen though such as condoms (as little as £0.17 each) and cock rings (from £1).
What about privacy?
This is another thing I always check because many people want complete privacy when buying this sort of thing (I don't!) and some companies don't care enough about this aspect.
This one does though; they use plain packaging...
"...in plain wrapping with no indication as to where it comes from".
The name on your card statement will also not give anything away - it'll just say "Net101 Ltd".
Conclusion - should you buy from them?
It's hard to find anything negative at all about this company; although it might be nice if they offered free delivery for smaller orders but that's not a big deal. The main positive point is how honest they are about everything - it's refreshing! So yes I'd say buy from them :)Dan
