Why do people still buy cards when it’s so much easier to send a message by WhatsApp?
Yes, it’s much easier to send a message, but that’s exactly why it has little value. When you receive a card you know someone has bothered to choose it, write in it and post or hand it to you. It means something.
Why should I get something from Mr. Inappropriate?
If you know someone who likes to laugh and doesn’t take life too seriously, we have the perfect thing for them. Something they will actually want to keep.
Why do we suggest buying something silly?
It’s very difficult to find an original and thoughtful gift for someone, so we often end up buying the same old thing like socks or wine. Yes, everyone likes socks and wine but only because we all need socks and we want wine, but there’s nothing special about giving such things as a gift.
Summary
We all like gifts that are personal and useful, but what does that really mean? Often it just means giving them something they would have bought anyway like perfume or chocolates. Sure, they’ll appreciate it but only because now they don’t have to buy those things themselves. There is nothing special about it at all.
Much better to give them something they will keep on their shelf for years because it reminds them of you every time they look at it.
